2018 Genesis Open PGA OAD Picks

See who the guys like to win this week's PGA Tour event, the Genesis Open, with the weekly PGA OAD Picks.

2018 Genesis Open PGA OAD Picks

What a final leader board at Pebble this past week. We had DJ disappear on Sunday as Ted Potter Jr basically ran away with the win. DJ still finished 2nd, with Phil Mickelson and handful of others at -14. When it comes to the leader board for the PGA OAD picks, well Jesse still has his comfortable lead with DJ finished 2nd, but we do have a shake up in 2nd through 4th. With Phil finishing 2nd for Bubba he moves into 2nd place, while Rob stays in 3rd and Kevin drops back to 4th.

This week, the PGA Tour heads to Riviera, to the Genesis Open. The field is absolutely loaded with top end talent and should make for a great event. It is an 144 player field, with Top 70 and ties making it to the weekend. DJ is your defending champ and there are many of the best here who have fared well at Riviera. Lets see who the guys like this week in their 2018 Genesis Open PGA OAD Picks.

@AllDayEvery365- Dustin Johnson – I need the money. Plain and simple. DJ doesn’t exactly fit any of the majors this year so the other places to look are the WGC’s or his home course tourney, which is this. He’s the number one player in the world, playing well, and gets to stay out of Tiger’s group the first two days. Did I mention he’s the number one player in the world playing at his home course. I’ll take the chalk and know he’s going to finish top 5.

@bdentrek- Last week was much needed after back to back missed cuts and then a handful of made cuts and minimal cash. Phil Mickelson came through in a big way and now it’s time to build on that. I will be going with a European who has been playing amazing golf for a year or so. He has only been worse than a Top 20 on the PGA Tour 4 times since last February with a ton of Top 10’s and some Top 5’s as well. He comes in off a T8 last week at Pebble. He was even playing top end golf while playing on the Euro Tour. He has made 5/6 cuts at Riviera including 1 Top 10. He is currently the 17th ranked player in the World. Give me Paul Casey for this week’s PGA OAD Pick.

@DFSGolfGods- Last week DJ’s 2nd place finish was good for plenty of money, but not as much as I anticipated.  Had I not used him, I would be pulling the trigger no questions asked this week on him.  Since I don’t have him I’ll have to look elsewhere.  I’m going Thomas Pieters.  He is a bit of a zig from my strategy of playing the best golfer in the field, but I don’t know where else I will use him this year.  He has great history here and is coming in with the form to compete for a win.

@KevinsDelight– Shane Lowry made another cut for this guy at Pebble….So still only one MC on the year but not much $$$ in the bank. I could easily go DJ this week and feel like I have a great chance to win. The only problem is that DJ could be so high owned this week that if I go elsewhere and make the cut and DJ doesn’t win, I’ll feel like I won. I do think DJ has a Top 10 at worst this week, so I’m challenged not to take him, but I’ll avoid him this time around….Dumbass? Maybe! Genius, far from it. So let’s get to the other options I’ve considered:
Phil Mickelson is in nice form. He’s had great success at The Riv…I did have a bold prediction on @TheSportsDegens that he’d win twice this year….COULD IT BE THIS WEEK?
Adam Scott: He played like Dog Shit at Pebble so it may hurt his ownership numbers this week which is good news. His recent performance here is nice: 1tth last year, 2nd in 2016, 10th in 2013, and 17th in 2012. Not sure I have the balls after his gross week on Monterrey Peninsula
Sang Moon Bae: shhhhh don’t tell anyone I told you to pick him….If you do and he plays well, tell everyone!!! 2 Top 10’s and a 12th place finish in 3 starts at Riviera.
Thomas Pieters: I think most will gravitate to Pieters off DJ. His one appearance last year was 2nd place behind the guy who I expect to have the majority of the OAD selections. Give it a shot if you’d like.

Fuck it!!!! I’m going with PHIL
Best of luck this week! As always let me know if you have any questions.
