2018 Houston Open PGA OAD Picks
Another wild week on tour in the books as Bubba Watson wins his 2nd event of the year at the WGC Dell Matchplay. He torched the field, especially in the final, but that wasn’t the only story lines. Ian Poulter came up just short of qualifying for the Masters. Kevin Kisner made a heck of run before he ran into the Watson buzz saw. Justin Thomas nearly became the new World #1. And so much more. This week the PGA Tour heads to Houston for the 2018 Houston Open. Some come here to get ready for The Masters, other to try and win to get into the Masters and others, well just to make some cash. Let’s see who the guys like this week in the 2018 Houston Open PGA OAD Picks.
|Last Week’s Earnings||$163,000||$97,917||$306,000||$1,700,000|
|Last Week’s Player||Tyrrell Hatton||Paul Casey||Ian Poulter||Bubba Watson|
|This Week’s Pick||Daniel Berger||Rafa Cabrera-Bello||Steve Stricker||Daniel Berger|
Jesse (@DFSGolfGods)- I consider Ian Poulter a success last week. He made it out of group play before running into Kisner’s hot putter. This week I’m going with Steve Stricker. He has 2 straight wins on the Champions Tour with a 12th at the Valspar sandwiched in, so he might be the hottest golf on Earth right now. He also has the putter to compete here.
Kevin (@KevinsDelight)- The Shell Houston is upon us which means The Masters is on deck. It’s a great time of year! March Madness is almost complete, Baseball is here, and the heart of the PGA TOUR season is in full swing. Russell Henley is a guy who many have saved for this week. I’ve already burned him at Sony. Luke List is extremely high on many lists…But he’ll be so high owned. Not many big names win here. Henley, Herman, Holmes, Jones, Points won here the last 5 years. Good players but not names like Spieth, Mickelson, Fowler, Stenson, etc…Daniel Berger has had nice success here and he’ll be my choice this week. Hope he joins the list of past champions this week.
Bubba (@bdentrek)- Finally a win, it’s about damn time. Bubba Watson was amazing and has actually been fun to watch again. It’s amazing what not selling out for a crappy golf call can do for your golf game. This week we head to Houston as we quietly look forward to Augusta. I’ll be trying to build on my new spot in second place and I’ll take a golfer who has had great success here. He’s coming in playing decent golf and has made 3 of 3 cuts at Houston including back to back 5th place finishes. I’ll be taking Daniel Berger this week as I get ready for the Masters.
Rob (@AllDayEvery365)- Rafa Cabrera-Bello: The other Spainaird comes in good form including a third place finish at the WGC-Mexico. For the Course History fans, after RCB missed the cut last year most would jump off, but he came in fourth in 2016. He sits fourth in SG: TOT and fifth in SG: Approach in his last 12 rounds. Throw in he’s 11th in DK points and he’s first in proximity, and I’m taking RCB to get a with the other big guns focused on Augusta.
