2018 The Open Championship PGA OAD Picks

Well the PGA’s 5th major, the John Deere Classic was a birdie fest as expected and another unlikely winner came out on top in Michael Kim. This week we get back to big boy golf. We get back to a PGA Tour major. This week we head across the pond for THE OPEN. The Open will be held at Carnoustie, the toughest of the The Open venues and it should be a true test in links golf for the best in the world. the cut line will be the usual with top 70 and ties, but there is no MDF. Let’s see who the guys like to hoist the Claret Jug this week with the 2018 The Open Championship PGA OAD Picks.

Rob- Tiger Woods – I still have some big guns to use (Rick, Brooks, JDay, Rory, JT) but they’re going to be around later in the year. El Tigre wants to play Firestone one last time and needs a really good result. Oh, and Major #15. There’s no where else on the schedule I’m going to use Tiger so why not here? Iron play looks good on paper, driver should get tucked away, and his putter is a complete toss up.

He has the imagination to play here, with a T7 and T12. I’m just hoping he can catch fire for a few days and bring home the Claret.

Jesse- For the 2018 Open Championship I’ll be taking Brooks Koepka.  If you read my article on Fanshare then you know how many times he has shown up at Majors over the last year and a half and I expect him to compete very well this week as well.

Bubba- For the 2018 Open Championship I am with Jesse on this one. For those that listened to (and if you haven’t you should) this week’s Always Pressing PGA DFS preview, I am all in on Brooks Koepka. Brooks is a major killer, he shows up for these events with basicaly all T20’s or better. He has won that last 2 US Open’s, both on links courses and added a T6 at last year’s Open Championship. Give me Brooks to hoist the Claret Jug. (Pat Reed was a close 2nd).
