2018 U.S. Open PGA OAD Picks

Dustin Johnson is back at number 1 with a dominating weekend in Memphis, winning the FedEx St. Jude Classic. He will look to take down another U.S. Open this week as the PGA Tour’s 2nd major heads to the Hamptons, to Shinnecock Hills. It is a loaded field as expected with 156 golfers, but be careful with a different cut, only top 60 and ties make it to the weekend. Many have saved some of the “big guns” for this week, so let’s see who the guys like to win with the 2018 U.S. Open PGA OAD Picks.

Rob-  Justin Rose – I’ve had the Englishman targeted for this place since the beginning of the year, and seeing how he’s trended to this point, nothing will point in another direction. After a win at the Fort Worth/Colonial, Rose followed it up with a sixth at the Memorial. The last time Rose lost strokes in multiple categories? March at the WGC. He’s gained in every category in four straight. His putting continues to improve, which was arguably his biggest weakness, including gaining strokes in five of his last six tournaments. He lost strokes off the tee last at the Shell. IN 2017!

He ranks 2nd in SG Par 4, 2nd in P4: 400-450 in his last eight and twelve rounds. He’s 1st in birdies gained and 2nd in BoB his last 12 rounds. I could go on and on here, but his ball striking is just way too good to ignore. Rose sits next to JT in terms of betting odds, but his pedigree at majors elevates him into another class.

Bubba- After a disappointing miss cut with Chappy last week (and I knew it was risky) I am going to the chalk, a player I’ve saved for this week. Some may laugh, but hopefully I will be at the week’s end. I’ll keep this short and sweet. On a bombers course, I’ll go with a bomber. I’ll go with the best player in the world. I’ll go with a previous winner of the U.S. Open. I’ll be going with Dustin Johnson.

Kevin- Finally the 2nd Major of the year! What a venue for the USGA after a complete whiff at Erin Hills last year. Not bashing Erin Hills but it’s not a US OPEN course. For me I like seeing par as relevant, Erin Hills didn’t play that part.

Brief recap from St Jude, we took G Murray who played well Friday to sneak in and make the cut. He played well Saturday but completely shit the bed Sunday…Nearly DFL (Dead Fucking Last). Still we pick up a check!

So DJ appears to be a HUGE favorite this week and rightfully so. Unfortunately I’ve used DJ. I’m saving a ton of bullets for the final push and won’t burn Spieth, Rory, Tiger, yet. I’ll take a guy who loves tough courses and won at Valspar earlier in the year. Homie Paul Casey to win our National Championship.

Jesse- I finally got a guy through the cut last week and made decent money.  This week if you have listened to anything I have put out, pod or article, then you know I’m high on Bryson Dechambeau.  I think his game sets up well for this tournament, so I’m all in.
