Season Record: 50-47-5 (-1.91u)
The first bet today is the Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers over 6 (-125). The Sabres are one of the hottest teams in the NHL, and are coming off a big win on the road against the Boston Bruins. This is a huge confidence boost for the Sabres. They also hold a 4-1-1 home record vs. division rivals, and when they are favs v. Division rivals, they are 4-1. This team has a ton of skill, and so do the Florida Panthers. Almost identical in skill depth, the Florida Panthers also are coming off a big win v. divisional opponents, the Maple Leafs. At first I did lean the Sabres ML at (-130), but found that line to be slightly fishy for a team that is 2nd in the eastern conference, that is why I am hitting the over. The Sabres ML seems like the easy play here, but for a safer bet, I am on the Over 6 (-125). The next bet is the Oilers reg (ev). This team took a complete turn with the hiring of Hitchcock, going 9-2-2 with him as HC. He has rejuvenated the team, and they are now playing much different hockey, to the polar opposite of their opponents, St. Louis Blues. With so much promise this year, the Blues are falling apart, and are in Sell mode as per rumours. The Oilers as well, in their last 10 games are 5-0-0 at home and 5-2 v. the Blues, whereas the Blues are 2-2 on the road. The 3rd bet today, is the Dallas Stars ML (ev). The Flames are one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now holding a 8-1-1 record in their last 10 games. But they square off against the Dallas Stars, who are a strong home team this year, holding a 10-3-1 record at home. The Stars are returning off a 4 game road trip, where they lost all 4 games, but returning home may be the best medicine for them to get out of this slide. The Stars also hold a 16-3 PL record in home games after losing by 2 or more goals. This is a great spot for the Stars, as home dogs, while the Flames continue their road trip.
