Quick Bricks NBA DFS Cheat Sheet 1-12-18

Boy, does it feel ever so good to reach another Friday, good people! Welcome back to another Quick Bricks Cheat Sheet, and hope you guys and gals are enjoying your Friday so far! We have a marginal 9-game slate in the Association, where I will throw out some of the player options that I find particularly attractive tonight, and then don’t forget the good guys over @thesportsdegens have added the new SD Slack Chat feature, where most of you have already joined, but I know there are plenty who haven’t and need to! If you haven’t, what are you waiting for? I will be in the slack chat once again this afternoon discussing the slate, strategies, etc. Either way, let’s get to this article, shall we?

PG:

Dame Lillard ($8,600)- Dame returned to the court in the Blazers more recent game and played 32 minutes, put up 29 points, 5 boards, 8 dimes, and 2 swipes against the Rockets, so I believe he is fine enough to play tonight, and I believe I will be taking him as well. The Q-tag may help tonight, as most will over-look Dame here even though he is labeled probable already, but given the Q-tag for precautionary reasons. This game should be decently paced, as the Pels rank 7th in the NBA in pace, and the Blazers come in at 16th. Over the last 8 games, Dame is carrying the 6th highest usage% for qualified guards at 30.5 (while carrying his own 30.7% in road games). Also, the Pels are allowing the 2nd most FPs on average to the PG spot on the season, as well as the 10th most on average over their last 5 contests. In 2 games vs NO this season, Dame has averaged 21 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 7.5 apg, and 1.0 spg.

Jeff Teague ($5,600)- In with that we say, “in Thibs we trust.” I like the spot for Teague tonight at home, hosting the Knicks who just went into double OT with the Bulls two nights ago at MSG where Jarret Jack played a whopping 40-minute season high game and notched a triple-double. Of course, Teague is 4th on the team in terms of usage behind the big 3, however, with his price tonight his usage (19.6) seems rather fair and manageable. Teague did just make his return to the court last game, where he played 26 minutes, but it was a blow-out win over OKC, so was kind of hard to tell how many mins he would have got if it weren’t a blow-out, but once again, IN THIBS. Now, two things, one, the Knicks have allowed the 6th most FPs on average to the PG spot over their L5 games, and two, I wanted to throw this out there: vs the Eastern conf this season (8 gms), Teague has carried a 21.2 usage rate, while averaging 15.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 7.6 apg, and 2.0 spg, for what it is worth.

SG:

Vic Oladipo ($9,000)- About as much of a “must-play” as you will find on tonight’s slate right here. Oladipo gets a dream smash-spot as the Pacers host the Cavs tonight in Indy. I would whole-heartedly expect the Cavs to try to play for a win tonight after last night’s debacle on national television. Oladipo is carrying the 4th highest usage of qualified guards on the season so far at 30.5% (it is even higher at home at 31.3%). We know the Cavs are bad against the SG spot, allowing the 2nd most FPs on average over their last 5 games, and the 3rd most on average over the course of the season so far. Oladipo has been great vs the Cavs so far this season as well, averaging 35.1 mpg, 28 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 6.0 apg, while shooting a fancy 45.0 FG%, and an even loftier 55.0 3-pt%! SO, need I say more.

Gary Harris ($5,800)- Harris has been torching the nets lately in his home games, going for 44.3, 21, 49, and 30 fantasy out-puts in his last 4 contests in altitude. Tonight he gets a lovely plus match up here against the Grizz at home, who have not defended the SG spot as well, as they are allowing the 6th most FPs on average to the spot over their last 5. Also, Harris consistently plays major minutes (35 or more in his last 4), while also carrying a modest 20.8 usage rate, not to mention the second highest PIE on the team at 14.3 on his last 5 games.

SF:

Kevin Durant ($10,200)- Obviously, this will be worth the watching of Steph’s status for tonight, as we know that if there is no Steph, KD’s usage could see a nice bump once again here as the Warriors travel to MIL. Klay should be back, but I would still be more than inclined to play Durant still as he has seen the usage rate among Fs over the last 5 games overall in the NBA at a whopping 31.8% (very close to his road usage rate at 31.1). It was stated the other night that he would be on a “minutes limit,” well that limit consisted of 31 minutes and 55.5 FPs on the night, so I think he is good to go. On the road this season, KD is averaging 26.2 ppg, 7.4 rpg, and 5.3 apg.

Caris Levert ($5,500)- I believe Levert should be nearly closing in to getting back to the 30+ minutes a game or so he was playing before he took a few games off for injury. He has been able to play in 27 over his last two since returning, and I hope that he should see more than that tonight as the Nets will square off against the Hawks, who we know have not been very good against athletic 2’s and 3’s this season, as they are allowing the 4th most fantasy points on average to the SG spot on the season, as well as the MOST FPs on average to the SF spot on the season as well. Over the L5 games (3 games played) Levert has seen a major up-tick in his usage rate at 27.8%, and before he missed a couple games, he had notched 35 or more fantasy points in 4 straight road games. In 3 clashes with ATL this season, Levert has carried a 23.1 usage rate, averaged 27.6 mpg, with a modest line of 13.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, and 4.3 apg against the Eastern conf foe.

PF:

Air Gordon ($7,700)- Here we have the game with the 3rd highest total on the board tonight as ORL (6th highest pace) traveling to DC (14th highest pace) for a Eastern conference battle with a total set at 218. Gordon has maintained the 3rd highest usage rate among all Forwards over the landscape of the last 5 games overall in the NBA at 30.0%. WAS is allowing the 9th most FPs on average to the PF spot over their last 5 contests as well. In Gordon’s last 2 road travels, he was able to put up at least 32 FPs or more. Also, since the injury to Vucevic, Gordon has been the main beneficiary of the team usage (while avg 33 mpg as well) while sitting at 29.5%, while the next closest is Elfrid Payton at 22.6%.

Jamychal Green ($4,700)- This pick was just too interesting not to include in this article today. First, DEN is allowing the 5th most FPs on average to the PF spot over their last 5 to begin with. Next, Green just put up a monster line against the Pelicans in his most recent game, notching out 20 points, 14 rebounds, 2 dimes, 2 swipes, and a swat good for 47 FPs. To go a bit further, over the Grizz L5 games, Green has ranked 3rd on the team in terms of usage rate at 22.5%, while also carrying a season road usage of 20.5, averaging 11.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg, and 1.4 apg. Lastly, the lone game that he faced the Nuggs in earlier this season, he played 32 minutes, scored 21 points, grabbed 3 boards, dished one dime, and had a massive 209 OFFRTG. So, at this price, I will find a GPP flyer on him tonight.

C:

Marc Gasol ($7,500)- Staying in the MEM/DEN game here with Gasol, where most will likely be piling it on Cousins/KAT. Gasol has been pretty good lately, putting up 49.3 and 49.5 fantast point totals in his last 2 contests. Carrying a 26.0 usage rate on the road this season (27.1 overall usage), only 2nd behind Tyreke Evans on the team. In their lone game against Denver earlier this season, Gasol put up a pretty modest stat line of 15 points, 6 rebounds, a season-high 14 dimes, while added 2 steals, and a 24.1 usage rate. I think that Gasol is a lovely contrarian play on tonight’s slate.

Bismack Biyombo ($5,600)- I am not going to lie to you guys, the lower options in the C list are pretty putrid, but I think Biyombo has gotten back to good here lately, as 2 of his last 3 have seen 27 or more FPs. This should be a nice pace-up game between ORL/WAS as mentioned before, and also it is worth noting that the last 3 of 4 centers that have faced the Wiz have notched a double-double, and we know what Biyombo is best at doing right? REBOUNDING. So, I think he could be another nice contrarian, yet very nice salary saver on tonight’s slate here as well.

SO, that will do it for this Friday Quick Bricks Cheat Sheet! As always hope you guys enjoyed it and hope you guys have a wonderful Friday. I also look very much forward to discussing tonight’s slate in the SD Slack Chat later this afternoon and hope to see you in there!
