Good degens, welcome back! Another night in the lovely association for this wonderful hump day! Just want to give a smidge of advice to everyone still playing NBA DFS, be very cautious, guys and gals. Teams are tanking, coaches are wanting to preserve their assets, especially teams out of the playoff race, and this most definitely was on show two nights ago as Tyreke Evans was said to be playing all day and then poof—scratched 5 minutes into the slate. Although, these teams also will provide some great value if utilized efficiently, so be very up to par on your info and injury news! Most will say we are crazy for still playing NBA DFS, but what the hell, we are degens, right??
G: Will Barton ($7,000)- This is pretty much a universal play here, and I’ll be quite honest, the guard options for tonight are not the greatest. However, the Nuggets are slated to be without starting SG Gary Harris for at least a week, thus extending playing time to Barton once again in the starting line-up. Barton has seen his usage jump back up over their last few games, at 24.7% over his last 3 games to clarify. Also, playing at least 32 minutes or more in those 3 contests as well, and tonight the Nuggets get to play the B-team of the Bulls as they are dealing with plenty of their own injuries, as well as the tank. Barton has played pretty well on the road lately, in games playing at least 30 minutes or more, Barton has failed to notch at least 38 or more FPs in just 1 of those games out of his last 7 on the road. In the lone game between these two teams earlier in the season, Barton played 35 minutes and accrued 37 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in that game. Chicago has also allowed the 6th most FPs on average to the SG spot over their last 5 games.
G: Delon Wright ($4,700)- Will be even better if DeRozan is side-lined once again with injury, but either way Delon has been seeing decent run here in the short-term. Now have played at least 28 minutes or more in his last 3, while also notching at least 26 or more FPs in those 3 as well, with two of them topping 34. Wright brings a lot more than just scoring though, as he has recorded at least 4 assists or more in those 3, as well as 5 boards in two of the three. Not to mention his defensive stats, at least 2 steals in 2 of the three, and 1 block in 2 of the three as well. He won’t put up monster numbers, but with some key injuries to DeRozan, as well as VanVleet, Wright should still be in line for nice floor-time. We know the Cavs are going to be without Korver tonight, allowing JR to slide back in at the 2-guard and this is great for Wright also making that guard spot a bit thinner for the Cavs.
F: LaMarcus Aldridge ($8,800)- Spurs in a playoff run? Just give it to LMA. Guy has literally taken over the game in their last 2 contests, and pretty much beat the Warrior’s scrubs on his own, which probably isn’t that much of a feat, but nonetheless, LMA has put up over 50 FPs in his last 2. Not only that, he has seen a hefty usage rate of 34.1% over his last 4 games! As long as this team has no Kawhi, and Pau not being a big factor as he hasn’t been lately, LMA will continue to eat and I also think he is a great pivot tonight from guys like LBJ and Giannis for differentiating purposes in your LUs. (Not saying I’m fading LBJ and or Giannis here). Also, it does need to be noted that the Wiz have been getting tumbled by the PF spot over lately, allowing the MOST Fps to the PF spot on average over their last 5 games, as well as the 5th most on average to the spot over their last 10 games, so the spot is lovely, LMA has been on fire, and hopefully will come with some low ownership.
F: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson ($6,800)- With this game sporting a hefty 221.5 total tonight, this is a nice game to target a few players in. Personally, I like a small stack of RHJ/DAR/Howard here. I think these three can be a nice core to build around alone, other than what I have presented in this article. RHJ has been beastin’ since his return from injury. Over his last 4 contests, he’s carried a 24.7 usage rate, with a team-leading 16.3 PIE as well over that span. His last 3 home bouts have led to 33.3, 36.8, and 41.0 fantasy point totals. This game should see some nice flow as mentioned above, and the Hornets are allowing the 6th most FPs on average to the PF spot over their last 5, as well as the 3rd most on average over their last 10 to the PF spot also.
This is all I have for you fine folks today! I hope it helps a little in your roster constructions, and hope to chat with you all in the SDSlackChat later this afternoon! Have a great hump day!
