Scott Takes: NBA Fantasy Draft Picks 2/14

Today is the last big night before the All-Star break. I will not be writing an article tomorrow because there are only two games and there is really no fun in those slates for me. Tonight there are 12 games which we haven’t seen in a while. I’m really excited to get this one underway. If I’m paying for a stud, it would be Anthony Davis. He put up 67 vs the Lakers earlier this year and the game has the highest total of the night (228) with only a 5 point spread. If you’re going up, go all the way up to Davis.

Kemba Walker $15,400: Kemba is priced at $8600 on DK but only 15.4 here. That is nearly 2k in (proportional) savings! He is averaging 57 FP in 34.5 minutes against the Magic this year as well as 38.8 FP on the road. He hasn’t been below 30 in his last 10 so we get a nice floor.

Ben Simmons $14,700: More savings! He is way underpriced for a home matchup. Simmons is averaging 43.9 FPPG at home this year and put up 41 FP against the Heat earlier this season. He always brings a nice floor and would see a slight boost with no Embiid.

DeMar DeRozan $14,400: The Bulls hand out fantasy points to opposing teams. In 3 games vs CHI, DeRozan is averaging 40 FP in 33 minutes. He also averages 38.6 FP on the road so even an average game pays off this price tag.

Lou Williams $12,400: Come on with this price. I don’t care who he is playing. The game has only a 5 point spread, and Lou has only scored in the 20’s (which was 29) one time in his last 22 games. All the rest have been at least 30. He averages 38.7 on the road and put up 34.3 vs BOS recently. He should hit value at a minimum.

Kevin Durant $17,300: He is very under priced as well. He averages 48.3 FPPG on the road and put up 51.8 vs POR earlier this year.

Embiid if he plays is always good. Whenever he is questionable before lock, he seems to play and go off. You could probably get low ownership on him in tournaments. Gasol is also only $13,600 and Howard is $14,600 so both are also worth looks at what I assume would be low ownership.

Julius Randle $14,200: He has been feasting lately. Now he gets in a lightning fast matchup against a porous Pelicans defense. With a 228 total and a 5 point spread, I would anticipate him to be heavily involved while playing minutes in the 30s.

Brandon Ingram $12,500: Very similar to Randle, the matchup is wonderful. He has handled the ball a ton lately and tonight should be no different. He has only been under 30 in 2 of his last 9 so I feel comfortable with the mid 20’s floor he brings plus upside at this price.

Atlanta has provided us with an abundance of value for tonight. John Collins already averages 23.4 FPPG in limited minutes and should start with no Ersan tonight. Schroder is out as well so whoever starts between Dorsey and Delaney should be a safe bet for good production. Dedmon has been good lately and is not much of a thift anymore, but Mascala is a mega punt you can consider for min salary. Taurean Prince is also a GPP shot who has been garbage but also has massive upside. The projections websites I look at also like Royce O’Neale so I would consider him viable as well without Rubio. My main lineup currently has Collins and whoever the starting PG is for ATL tonight and then plays from above.

Best of luck tonight everyone! Let’s enjoy the last night before the all star break.
