UFC Fight Night 137 Betting and DFS Preview
While most are still buzzing about the Khabib-Conor presser yesterday, in case you didn’t know there is an event in Sao Pulo, Brazil this Saturday. This card may be similar to last weekends card in Russia, a lot of big favorites may roll but something tells me we could have a few upsets. I didn’t have a lot of time this week but here’s a qucik breakdown of the main event and some Draft Kings nuggets,
Thiago Santos (18-6) vs Eryk Anders (11-1)
So this is quite the interesting main event, as both Thiago Santos and Eryk Anders are fighting at light heavyweight. Anders is taking this on short notice filling in for the injured Jimi Manuwa. Santos rebounded from a knockout loss to David Branch with a win at UFC 227 over newcomer Kevin Holland. Anders has won 3 out of his 4 fights in the UFC, and most recently won via 3rd round knockout over Tim Williams. Santos is a pretty good striker and has really powerful kicks. His chin is a tad suspect and his fight IQ is sometimes questionable (see the loss to Eric Spicely). Anders is a solid athlete and hits like a truck but has been known to be a little gun shy. Fighting in Brazil is nothing new to the former Alabama linebacker as he lost a controversial split decision to Lyoto Machida. This is a very risky yet winnable fight for Anders. I think he is the better grappler, but he can’t stay at range and allow Santos to pick him apart with kicks to the body. If Anders can close the distance and work in the pocket he can have success. I don’t see this going 5 rounds, but I don’t think Anders would have taken the fight if he knew he wasn’t ready. Santos could end this early but Anders can definitely end it early as well. I’ll take the more athletic Anders at +140.
Eryk Anders via 2nd rd TKO
Charles Oliveira $9400 – Out of all the big favorites on this card Chuckie Olives is the one I like most. Oliveira is matched up against Christos Giagos who is making his return to the UFC. Oliveira could easily end this in the first as he has a massive advantage on the ground.
Ryan Spann $8700 – I like Spann a lot at this price. Henrique may be the bigger guy but Spann is so much faster and athletic. Spann could very well end this early.
Trinaldo $8900 / Dunham $7300 – I like Trinaldo a lot and I honestly think he could overpower Dunham, but I will have Evan in a lineup or two. Dunham’s last performance was surprising, but I still think the guy is super durable and is capable of pulling the upset.
Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos $9500 – I’ve paid up for “Capoeira” before only to be disappointed. He was originally supposed to fight Belal Muhammed but the fight was scratched due to Muhammed’s injury. Zaleski more than likely takes care of business here but I just don’t trust him at this price.
Sergio Moraes $9100 – I see this fight going to a decision, and while Ben Saunders’ chin is completely gone I don’t see Moraes knocking him out. I see a lot of wall n’ stall here. No way would I pay 9100 for a guy that hasn’t had a finish since December of 2015.
Renan Barao $8500 – I’d stay far far away from this guy. Barao has fallen so far so fast it’s crazy. What’s more alarming is he’s lost 3 out of 4 and missed weight by 5 POUNDS!!!! This is all you need to know.
Lombard and Leites – Staying far away from this fight, don’t want either in my lineup. Lombard could end it early but his cardio is awful.
Eryk Anders $7600 – Not a bad price to pay, he’s the better athlete in my opinion.
Carlo Pedersoli Jr. $6900 – I personally think the line on Alex Oliveira is insane. Pedersoli is a decent striker and an underrated ground game. I think the young Italian is a live dog.
Bets this weekend
Eryk Anders +140 1*
Carlo Pedersoli Jr +365 0.5*
Best of luck!
